Job Description

Our client is seeking a Sr Geologist/Hydrogeologist with experience with large scale super fund cleanup. The position interacts with a full range of clients, including private industry clients as well as local, state, and federal government agencies.

This is a full-time position is Olympia, WA or San Francisco East Bay.

This position’s responsibilities include:

  • Project management;
  • Hydrogeologic study design;
  • Site conceptual model design;
  • Evaluating and interpreting subsurface field and sampling data;
  • Directing/conducting remedial investigations at hazardous waste sites;
  • Developing groundwater models;
  • Preparing reports and work plans;
  • and Directing/conducting fieldwork.

 Typical projects include investigation and remediation of sites with soil, sediments, groundwater, surface water, soil vapor and/or indoor air impacted by chlorinated solvents, pesticides, petroleum, hydrocarbons, metals, and other contaminants.

 Typical field activities include Phase II environmental site assessments, remedial investigations, installing wells, performing long-term groundwater monitoring.

Job Requirements


  • At least ten years of investigation and cleanup experience at CERCLA, RCRA, MTCA, or similar sites (including hands-on experience with groundwater monitoring/groundwater modeling)
  • Education: B.S. in Hydrogeology or B.S. in Geology with an emphasis in hydrogeology
  • Required License or Certification: L.H.G. or P.G. (Washington, Oregon, and California) (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification
  • Private sector consulting experience
  • Proven field work expertise, including planning, execution, and record keeping during completion of environmental investigations and monitoring
  • Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal and project management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, proven ability to complete wide variety of tasks independently
  • Proficiency with Excel and ArcGIS
  • Working experience with AQTESOLV, MODFLOW, etc. and in the application of geochemical processes and modeling techniques to environmental investigations
  • Excellent knowledge of CERCLA, RCRA, and MTCA regulations
